The Morris Movie Theatre is a vibrant hub for entertainment, culture, and community engagement. With a diverse lineup of events, there is something for everyone! Whether you are a fan of classic films, family fun, or themed extravaganzas, the upcoming events at Morris Theatre promise to deliver unforgettable experiences. In order to keep delivering such valuable community events, the Morris Theater Building needs significant improvements, including repair to previous water damage, permanent roof repair, and accessibility improvements in many areas.
Though the theatre co-op adds incalculable value to the lives of many residents in West Central Minnesota, the business itself is among many in the country who are working tirelessly to stay afloat in an era of streaming services and busy schedules. This means that the margins are slim - often too slim to make large-scale improvements on the timeline they're needed.
In order to address this need, the Morris Theater Advancement Group was created. MTAG offers a place for individuals and groups to make tax deductible donations, with the specific goals of improving the Morris Theater Building. The group also plans to organize fundraising events, apply for grants, and facilitate community events that support arts engagement.
The founding members of the Board include Rachel Coler Mulholland (president), Dr. John Anderson (vice president), Dr. Marissa Holst (secretary), Syd Bauer (treasurer), and Eric Buchanan (member).
